Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into the Criteek Terms of Use (available at terms-of-use) (the “Terms”). The term “Criteek,” “we,” and “us” includes Criteek Communications, Inc. and our affiliates and subsidiaries. The Privacy Policy explains how Criteek may:

  • collect,
  • use, and
  • disclose

information we obtain through the Service. All other terms not defined herein will have the meanings set forth in the Terms.

“Personal Information” means information that alone or when in combination with other information may be used to readily identify, contact, or locate you, such as: name, address, email address, or phone number. We do not consider Personal Information to include information that has been anonymized so that it does not allow a third party to easily identify a specific individual.

THE SERVICE COLLECTS YOUR INFORMATION

We collect Personal Information when you:
  • register to use the Service;
  • log in with social networking credentials;
  • use the Service; and
  • communicate with us.

We also collect information, such as anonymous usage statistics, by using cookies, server logs, and other similar technology as you use the Service.

Personal Information Collection. You must register for an “Account” to use the Service. To register, you may need to provide Personal Information, such as your name, email address, telephone number or payment information such as a credit card number. You may also provide other optional information. For example, if you want to take full advantage of the sharing features we offer, we might also ask you to create a publicly visible “Profile,” which may include your name and photo.

Social Sign-On. We collect Personal Information from the social media website when you use your social media credentials to log into the Service. For example, when you log in with your Facebook credentials, we may collect the Personal Information you have made publicly available in Facebook, such as your name and profile picture. We may also obtain other information with your permission, such as your user ID and/or user name associated with that social media service, any information or content you have permitted the social media service to share with us, such as your profile picture, email address or friends lists, and any information you have made public in connection with that social media service.

Using the Service. We collect information you post through the Service. For example, when you interact with other users by posting a review, the Service will collect the information you provide in such submissions, including any Personal Information. We also collect information about the services that you use and how you use them, like when you watch a video via the Service, visit a website that uses the Service, or how you view and interact with our information and content.

Customer Support. We may collect Personal Information through your communications with our customer-support team.

Location and Other Information from Your Mobile Device. We may collect and store your location information if you enable your mobile device to send it to us. Collection of this information may improve the provision of the Service. We use various technologies to determine location, including IP address, GPS, and other sensors that may, for example, provide Criteek with information on nearby devices, Wi-Fi access points and cell towers. We collect device-specific information (such as your hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information including phone number). We may associate your device identifiers or phone number with your Account.

Cookies, Automatic Data Collection, and Related Technologies. The Service collects and stores information that is generated automatically as you use it, including your preferences and anonymous usage statistics.

When you visit the Service, we and our third-party service providers receive and record information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, and from cookies and similar technology. Cookies are small text files placed in visitors’ computer browsers to store their preferences. Most browsers allow you to block and delete cookies. However, if you do that, the Service may not work properly. We may collect and store information (including Personal Information) locally on your device using mechanisms such as browser web storage (including HTML 5) and application data caches.

Certain services include a unique application number. This number and information about your installation (for example, the operating system type and application version number) may be sent to Criteek when you install or uninstall that service or when that service periodically contacts our servers, such as for automatic updates

When you use our Service or view content provided by Criteek, we automatically collect and store certain information in server logs. This includes: details of how you used our service, such as your search queries; Internet protocol address; device event information such as crashes, system activity, hardware settings, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and referral URL; cookies that may uniquely identify your browser or your Account.

By using the Service, you are authorizing us to gather, parse, and retain data related to the provision of the Service.

HOW CRITEEK USES YOUR INFORMATION

We use Personal Information to
  • facilitate and improve our Service; and
  • communicate with you.
We may use aggregate information for any purpose, including for marketing purposes.

Internal and Service-Related Usage. We use information, including Personal Information, for internal and service-related purposes only and may provide it to third parties to allow us to facilitate the Service. We may use and retain any data we collect to provide and improve our Service.

Communications. We may send email to the email address you provide to us to verify your Account and for informational and operational purposes, such as account management, customer service, or system maintenance. When you contact Criteek, we keep a record of your communication to help solve any issues you might be facing.

We may use the name you provide for your Profile across all of the services we offer that require an Account. In addition, we may replace past names associated with your Account so that you are represented consistently across all our services. If other users already have your email, or other information that identifies you, we may show them your publicly visible Profile information, such as your name and photo.

Marketing. We may use information, including Personal Information, to provide online advertising on the Service and to facilitate transmittal of information that may be useful, relevant, valuable or otherwise of interest to you. We also use this information to offer you tailored content – like giving you more relevant search results. We may display your Profile name, Profile photo, and actions you take on Criteek or on third party applications connected to your Criteek Account (such as +1’s, reviews you write and comments you post) in our Service, including displaying in ads and other commercial contexts.

Aggregate Data. We may anonymize and aggregate data collected through the Service and use it for any purpose.

CRITEEK MAY DISCLOSE YOUR INFORMATION

We may share your information:
  • with our third-party service providers;
  • to comply with legal obligations;
  • to protect and defend our rights and property; and
  • with your permission.
We do not rent, sell, or share Personal Information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies for their direct marketing purposes, unless we have your permission.

We Use Vendors and Service Providers. We may share any information we receive with vendors and service providers retained in connection with the provision of the Service. These include data-modeling and/or data-append services, such as Experian, which allow Criteek to learn more about you from other websites, based on the information you have permitted Criteek to gather directly (including your email address).

Domain Administrators. If your Criteek Account is managed by a domain administrator, then your domain administrator and resellers who provide user support to your organization will have access to your Criteek Account information (including your email and other data). Your domain administrator may be able to: view statistics regarding your account, like statistics regarding applications you install; change your account password; suspend or terminate your account access; access or retain information stored as part of your account; receive your account information in order to satisfy applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request; restrict your ability to delete or edit information or privacy settings. Please refer to your domain administrator’s privacy policy for more information.

Displaying to Other Users. The content you post to the Service may be displayed on the Service. Other users of the Service may be able to see some information about you, such as your Profile name and photo. We are not responsible for privacy practices of the other users who will view and use the posted information.

Social Networking and Other Websites. The Service may allow you to share information, including Personal Information, with social networking websites, such as Facebook. We do not share your Personal Information with them unless you direct the Service to share it. Their use of the information will be governed by their privacy policies, and you may be able to modify your privacy settings on their websites.

Search Engines. Personal Information and other content information that you choose to share publicly may be indexable and therefore accessible via search engines or similar services. Our service provides you with different options on sharing and removing your content.

Marketing. We do not rent, sell, or share Personal Information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies for their direct marketing purposes, unless we have your permission, We may allow access to other data collected by the Service to enable the delivery of online advertising on this website, or otherwise facilitate transmittal of information that may be useful, relevant, valuable or otherwise of interest to you.

As Required By Law and Similar Disclosures. We may access, preserve, and disclose your Personal Information, other Account information, and content if we believe doing so is required or appropriate to: comply with law enforcement requests and legal process, such as a court order or subpoena; respond to your requests; or protect yours’, ours’or others’ rights, property, or safety; and enforce applicable Terms, including investigation of potential violations.

Merger, Sale, or Other Asset Transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of company assets, or transition of service to another provider, then your information may be sold or transferred as part of such a transaction as permitted by law and/or contract. The use of your Personal Information following any of the foregoing events should be governed by the provisions of this Privacy Policy in effect at the time such Personal Information was collected.

We may also disclose your Personal Information with your permission.

SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION

We take steps to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Unfortunately, the Internet cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure, and we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you provide to us. We do not accept liability for unintentional disclosure.

By using the Service or providing Personal Information to us, you agree that we may communicate with you electronically regarding security, privacy, and administrative issues relating to your use of the Service. If we learn of a security system’s breach, we may attempt to notify you electronically by posting a notice on the Service or sending an e-mail to you. You may have a legal right to receive this notice in writing. To receive free written notice of a security breach (or to withdraw your consent from receiving electronic notice), please notify our privacy manager at admin@criteek.com.

ACCESS TO PERSONAL INFORMATION

Whenever you use our Service, we aim to provide you with access to your Personal Information. If that information is wrong, we strive to give you ways to update it quickly or to delete it – unless we have to keep that information for legitimate business or legal purposes. When updating your Personal Information, we may ask you to verify your identity before we can act on your request. We may reject requests that are unreasonably repetitive, require disproportionate technical effort (for example, developing a new system or fundamentally changing an existing practice), risk the privacy of others, or would be extremely impractical (for instance, requests concerning information residing on backup systems).

Where we can provide information access and correction, we will do so for free, except where it would require a disproportionate effort. We aim to maintain our Service in a manner that protects information from accidental or malicious destruction. Because of this, after you delete information from our Service, we may not immediately delete residual copies from our active servers and may not remove information from our backup systems.

You may revoke consent at any time for any use of Personal Information, including user location information, collected from you under this Privacy Policy. To revoke consent and re-set your privacy settings, please contact admin@criteek.com. Even after you revoke consent or remove your information from your profile, copies of your information may remain viewable elsewhere to the extent it has been shared with others or it was copied or stored by other users. We may also be required to retain your information by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as to prevent identity theft or other misconduct. You may request a copy of your Personal Information, or correct factual inaccuracies it may contain, by contacting our privacy manager at admin@criteek.com.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 and we do not want it. We will take steps to delete it if we learn we have collected it.

We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use Personal Information from children under 13 years of age, and no part of the Service is directed to children under the age of 13. If you learn that your child has provided us with Personal Information without your consent, you may alert us by contacting our privacy manager at admin@criteek.com. If we learn that we have collected any Personal Information from children under 13, we will promptly take steps to delete such information and terminate the child’s Account.

INTERNATIONAL USERS

By using the Service, you will transfer data to the United States.

By choosing to visit the Service or otherwise provide information to us, you agree that any dispute over privacy or the terms contained in this Privacy Policy will be governed by the law of the state of New York and the adjudication of any disputes arising in connection with Criteek or the Service will be in accordance with the Terms available at terms-of-use

If you are visiting from the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use, please note that you are agreeing to the transfer of your information to the United States and processing globally. By providing your information you consent to any transfer and processing in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION OR POSE A QUESTION OR SUGGESTION

If you would like to update or correct any information that you have provided to us through your use of the Service or otherwise, or if you have suggestions for improving this Privacy Policy, please send an e-mail to our privacy manager at admin@criteek.com.

CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY AND PRACTICES

We may revise this Privacy Policy, so review it periodically.

Posting of Revised Privacy Policy. We will post any adjustments to the Privacy Policy on this web page, and the revised version will be effective when it is posted. If you are concerned about how your information is used, bookmark this page and read this Privacy Policy periodically.

New Uses of Personal Information. From time to time, we may desire to use Personal Information for uses not previously disclosed in our Privacy Policy. If our practices change regarding previously collected Personal Information in a way that would be materially less restrictive than stated in the version of this Privacy Policy in effect at the time we collected the information, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice and obtain consent to any such uses as may be required by law.
